Evo 2023 is fast approaching and organizers have shared some insight after the end of the early bird registration, revealing just how massive some of the fighting games will be.

Evo is one of the most coveted fighting game tournaments of the year, bringing together all of the most popular fighting game communities under one arena — except Smash, of course. Taking place in Las Vegas, the respected event draws the top pros for a variety of titles. But one game seems to be getting a lot more signups than others.

Street Fighter 6 is coming out this summer and the fighting game community is clearly hyped for the new title.

According to a tweet from Evo’s main account, Street Fighter 6 is the game with the most early bird sign-ups on Start.gg. Here is the order of the fighting games at Evo, going from most signs up to least.

  • Street Fighter 6
  • Guilty Gear -Strive-
  • TEKKEN 7
  • Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3
  • DRAGON BALL FighterZ
  • THE KING OF FIGHTERS XV
  • MELTY BLOOD: TYPE LUMINA
  • Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate

Street Fighter 6 Has Massive Hype Surrounding It Ahead of Evo 2023

Street Fighter 6 is set to release on June 2, 2023, two months before Evo 2023.

Leading up to its release date, the fighting game has been getting a lot of hype. The trailers have shown new characters with exciting fighting styles as well as a vibrant and colorful appearance. The mechanics look clean and the action is fast-paced.

The FGC has been getting even more pumped the more gameplay is revealed. The attention to detail (including aging the OG fighters) and eye-popping fighting action has been overwhelming to say the least.

But that’s not the only reason that pro players are flocking to Evo 2023. Back in February, Capcom announced that the Capcom Cup will award $1 million to the winner. It was also revealed at the Capcom Cup IX Finals that there would be $2 million total in the prize pool.

With so much money on the line, pros are going to be showing up more than ever. Big tournaments like Evo are the perfect opportunity to fight against other top players, practicing matchups and improving their skills and strategies.

It’s safe to say that Evo 2023’s Street Fighter 6 tournament is going to be the most hype esports event of the summer.
