The racing mode was initially rumored by trusted journalist Jacob Wolf. He shared that Epic Games was moving around some staff to cover major projects including Chapter 5 and Rocket League Racing.

What Is Rocket League Racing in Fortnite?
Not much is known about the Rocket League Racing game mode. One thing that leakers do believe, however, is that you’ll be able to port their Rocket League presets into Fortnite.
Earlier this year, Epic removed P2P trading from Rocket League, stating: “This opens up future plans for some Rocket League vehicles to come to other Epic games over time.”
The reaction to the game mode has been largely negative so far without having any information to go off of. A lot of players expressed concern that Rocket League’s publisher, Psyonix, no longer had control over the game after the Epic Games acquisition. Others even speculated that Rocket League would become a game mode in Fortnite and cease to exist outside of the battle royale, but this is very unlikely.

When Is Rocket League Coming to Fortnite?
Leakers claim that Rocket League Racing is coming to Fortnite in Chapter 5. Chapter 4 Season 5 is arriving on November 3, 2023. It’s unclear if the game mode will come with it or appear sometime later on in the season.
