Out of the multiple game modes in Mortal Kombat 1, there's one that competitive players will want to dive into as soon as possible. That's the Mortal Kombat 1 ranked mode, or Kombat League, in this installment. It's the mode you want to explore when you're ready to show off your skills against a fleet of other players. Kombat League will find you battling for points that will ultimately determine your player rank.

Kombat League works largely the same as the previous game, Mortal Kombat 11, so it'll be familiar territory for many. Still, if you're unsure of what to do when you jump in and start brawling, it's a good idea to brush up on how Kombat League's ranks shake out and how you can level up.

Here's what to know about Mortal Kombat 1's ranked mode, Kombat League.

How Mortal Kombat 1 Kombat League works

In Kombat League's Ranked mode, Ranked matches will pair you against opponents that are considered to be equal to you in terms of skill level in your rank. The more you play and win, the more points you'll receive. This will eventually help you to rise through the ranks in your overall Kombat League progression journey. Each Kombat League will run as long as one game season's Invasion mode, which means you can earn a wide variety of different goodies for both game modes.

Mortal Kombat 1 Kombat League ranks

There are nine ranks you can level through as you play ranked matches:

  • Apprentice
  • Kombatant
  • Warrior
  • Champion
  • Master
  • Grand Master
  • Demi God
  • God
  • Elder God

As you complete battles in Kasual Versus and Kombat League, you'll get experience points that go toward beefing up your Profile Level, Fighter Mastery Rank, and Kameo Rank.

For every rank, you'll receive a reward. That could include a piece of gear, a profile banner, profile background, Kredits, or another item that you can use to customize your experience or Kombatants. Once you reach Warrior rank and upward, you can also begin receiving alternate color palettes for each fighter.

Mortal Kombat 1 Kombat League rewards

You can earn a variety of rewards as you play through the Mortal Kombat 1 Kombat League. You'll see which rewards you've unlocked as soon as you complete the final round of each match.

They could include the following:

Seasonal Kredits: You can use this in-game currency to unlock special Seasonal Items in the Store menu. This includes new gear and color palette customization items that will follow the focus of each Season. Prices range from 250 to 6,000 Kredits.

Gear Items: You'll get a piece of gear to use to customize your Kombatants. This is a great way to rack up new pieces of gear quickly.

Skins: Unlock different potential skins for Kombatants to change up the way they look entirely.

Palettes: In addition to Gear and Skins, you can unlock new Palettes to apply to your fighters' costumes. They'll typically correspond to the Season that's currently in place.
