Everything We Know About Omni-Man in MK1 — Release Date, Moves, Voice Lines
Leakers have been hard at work figuring out which new fighters are coming to the Mortal Kombat 1 roster. Recently, a trusted leaker claimed that Omni-Man, Peacemaker, Homelander would be in Kombat Pack 1. Soon after, NetherRealm confirmed the leak and gave more insight into the exciting new fighters, with Ed Boon promising that Homelander and Omni-Man would be very different.
Since then, the FGC has been trying to figure out when Omni-Man and the rest of Kombat Pack 1 is coming. Here’s what we know so far.
When Will Omni-Man Be in MK1?
In an interview, Boon confirmed that Omni-Man is the first DLC character coming to Mortal Kombat 1. This means he’s most likely coming pretty soon, with the gaming community speculating that it will be in October or November 2023.
With Invincible Season 2 premiering on November 3, it’s predicted that Omni-Man will be coming before that date. Unfortunately, his trailer will not be released at New York Comic-Con so a lot of details are still a mystery.
If you purchased the Premium Edition of the game, you will get to play as Omni-Man one week early which could be any week now. We should at least expect a trailer very soon.
What We Know About Omni-Man So Far
Omni-Man is confirmed to be the first DLC character coming to Mortal Kombat 1. Boon has promised a lot of “hype” videos before Omni-Man is released, but gave no release date beyond saying it’ll be a “few weeks” after the game’s release in September.
While Omni-Man and Homelander have a lot of similarities in their TV shows, Boon said their powers will be portrayed very differently within the game. Omni-Man will “punch in a unique fashion” according to the NetherRealm team.
We know that Omni-Man will be voiced by J. K. Simmons, who is the character’s voice actor in the show as well. He is also being added as a DLC announcer for the game, with all his lines also done by Simmons. Check out the last segment of this video to hear his lines.
Some of Omni-Man’s mid-match taunts were datamined already as well as his dialogue with other characters during the fight intro segment. On top of that, leakers uncovered the names of his Fatalities and other inputs. The two Fatalities are Trained Killer and Like Putty.
