The Best Anime Crossovers in Video Games
Anime crossovers have become huge in the past few years. You’ve probably noticed popular anime characters popping up in a variety of games, from fighting games to battle royales. Here are some of our favorite anime crossovers in video games.
Everything We Know About Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash
PUBG x Jujutsu Kaisen
PUBG is so serious it’s a change of pace and a bit entertaining to see anime characters running around the map. Fans were beyond hype to have Jujutsu Kaisen in PUBG, which brought an entirely new game mode, cosplay skin sets, and new weapons and vehicles.
Street Fighter 6 x Spy x Family
This is the first big anime crossover of 2024, with Spy x Family’s protagonists getting avatar skins in Street Fighter 6. While this crossover doesn’t include a lot of content, we enjoyed the video announcing the crossover, with Chun-Li facing off against Yor in an intense battle. This shows how perfectly the two worlds can blend, making the line blurry between anime and gaming.
Apex Legends Gaiden Event
This cosmetics-focused event brought over 40 new items to the battle royale, and many are inspired by popular anime. This includes legendary skins like Wattson’s Naruto look, Mirage as Deku from My Hero Academia, Octane as Luffy from One Piece, and Crypto as Goku from Dragon Ball Z. While it’s not a direct collaboration with a specific anime, it was a very anime style event with awesome skins any fans will recognize.
Dead By Daylight x Attack on Titan
While considered very random, it doesn’t get more badass than Attack on Titan’s characters getting a realistic makeover in the horror survival game Dead By Daylight. You could play as your favorite Attack on Titan protagonists, trying to escape from a Titan in a dark, intense environment. While many fans said they “never would have expected this” it became an instant classic.
Fortnite x Dragon Ball Z
It’s no surprise to see Fortnite on this list. The battle royale has collaborated with just about every popular IP and this includes anime like Naruto and Dragon Ball Z. Being able to compete in a battle royale as your favorite Dragon Ball Z characters is fun in itself, but the collaboration also featured quests, items, and other content related to the iconic anime. This includes riding around on the Nimbus Cloud and picking up a Kamehameha.
