If you're conflicted, you could always try out a vocation and if you find it's not right for you, simply create a new save file to try out another one until you find one that feels right.
The Trickster Vocation
The Trickster vocation has the ability to create illusions through smoke to confuse enemies and convince them to begin fighting their own kind. They can also allow Pawns to temporarily their power past any limitations. With this vocation you will utilize deception and use it to your advantage. The trickster vocation is exclusive to the Arisen.
The Sorcerer Vocation
With the Sorcerer vocation, you will be specialized in magick attacks that can be conjured using a staff or your hands. This can change the events of a battle in a matter of seconds. However, keep in mind that while these magick attacks are strong, they will take longer to cast. Due to this, you will want to find a safe spot to wait for the right moment to attack.
The Warfarer Vocation
The Warfarer is a newly implemented vocation and similar to the Trickster vocation, it is exclusive to the Arisen. Choosing this class will allow you to use every and any weapon as well as learn some skills belonging to each of the other vocations. The combos you can create have the ability to cross the boundaries of the different vocations. While you will have lower base stats with the Warfarer, there are situational strengths with the various weapons you have access to. This will allow you to be equal with the specialized strengths of the other vocations.
The Warrior Vocation
With the Warrior vocation, you will be right in the middle of the action with direct combat. You can withstand counterattacks from your enemies due to your strength and be a master of two-handed weapons. Wielding a weapon in each hand may give you the advantage you need to take a difficult enemy down. When you charge your power as the Warrior, you will unleash an attack that is considered one of the most powerful among all the vocations.
The Mystic Spearhand Vocation
This vocation, once again, will only be available to the Arisen. You will have a combination of magick and melee attacks. This will give you a nice balance of attacks that you can implement no matter your range. You will even have the ability to paralyze your enemies or throw objects at them utilizing your magick.
The Thief Vocation
If stealth is more your style, the Thief vocation allows you to attack at a lethal pace. You will have two daggers in either hand to deal more damage as you move quickly around enemies. Aside from moving swiftly throughout battles, you can also grasp onto an enemy and deal a lot of damage. Out of battle, you will have the ability to steal from your enemies and NPCs.
The Magick Archer Vocation
Available to the Arisen is the Magick Archer vocation. In this vocation, you will be proficient with long-range combat using magickal arrows. You can choose to attack, heal, or even support allies. If you trade some of your overall HP, you can deal a highly destructive attack that will have a large area of damage.
The Fighter Vocation
The Fighter vocation specializes in melee attacks while utilizing a sword and shield. You'll be able to not only help yourself but also allies with your shields. You will be able to power through enemies and deal damaging blows which will help you greatly in battles.
The Archer Vocation
When you choose the Archer vocation, you can take solace in knowing you don't have to be up close and personal with enemies constantly. Using your bow, you can deal long-range attacks. This means you can even reach enemies soaring in the sky. You will also be a major support to the frontlines by firing at an enemy's weakness giving your allies the opportunity to attack.
The Mage Vocation
A vocation that is used to help your party would be the Mage vocation. You'll be able to launch various magick attacks and utilize enchantments to help support your party's weapons. As you progress in your magick, it will become more powerful. This will allow your incantation time to increase.
Some vocations will seem stronger than others but it's all about upgrading what you can and building your skills. It's up to you to create a strong character able to withstand battle and various dangers throughout your adventure.
