A big part of Palworld is fighting your Pals to capture more Pals or get resources. Like other games that won't be mentioned, the Pals in Palworld have different types that are strong and weak against each other in battle.
Capturing Pals is a big part of Palworld so it's important to understand how the Palworld type chart works. Basically, each Pal has a type that will not only determine its attacks and special abilities but which other Pals it's strong and weak against. This helps you choose which Pals to bring into battles once you see what you're up against.

There are nine types of Pals in Palworld. They include:
- Water
- Fire
- Ice
- Electric
- Ground
- Grass
- Dark
- Dragon
- Neutral
The Palworld Type Chart
Here are all of the types of Pals and which other types they are strong and weak against. Basically, if a Pal is strong against a certain type, you'd want to choose them for that battle since their attacks would do more damage. On the other hand, if your Pal is weak to a certain type of Pal, they would do less damage and take more damage, making it a bad matchup.

Because every Pal has a different strength and weakness, it's always safe to have at least one Pal of every type. This way you're prepared for any enemy you come across.
Experiment with what Pal type you like playing with the most. You'll soon find which type is your favorite. Neutral may be the most underwhelming type since it's not strong against any type and no Pal type is weak against it.
In time, we expect that more types will be added to Palworld. But for now, these are the types to keep track of.
