You've heard of Legendary skins but Mythic skins have brought an entirely new class of cosmetics to Overwatch 2. Here are our favorites so far.

Mythic skins were introduced in Overwatch 2, enticing more players than ever before to pay for battle passes. The hard-to-get skins have become extremely desirable not only due to their status and rarity but the beautiful, customizable designs.

What makes Mythic skins stand out is just how much they transform the hero they're made for. Players can mix and match the colors, change different parts of the costume, and customize their weapon — although these features have been a bit sparse in the more recent Mythic skins.

Every Evil Hero in Overwatch 2 Explained

There are currently just eight Mythic skins in Overwatch 2, with on releasing every season. Here is our ranking of the Mythic skins in Overwatch 2.

Cyber Demon Genji Mythic Skin

A unique blend of Asian folklore elements and cyberpunk details, this skin is one-of-a-kind. It was also the first Mythic skin ever introduced in Overwatch 2. It has a ton of customizable weapon options that have excited the fanbase since it was dropped. But the biggest selling point is probably the visuals and audio that transform Genji's entire look and abilities.

"For Genji, once we could see the skin in-game, we started messing around with changing the effects on his shuriken projectiles and Dragon Blade—all his abilities got updated for this skin,” Lead VXF Artist Chris Wilson said. "Everywhere the skin exists in-game was redesigned, including hero select, emotes, highlight intros, etc.— making this the first time we’ve replaced a full suite of ability assets for a skin."

Adventurer Tracer Mythic Skin

This Mythic skin was part of the Dungeons & Dragons-inspired fantasy theme of Season 5. This was a pretty neat concept that had players unlocking an upgraded version of the skin as they went up in battle pass levels, meaning she had three different styles to choose from.

The final version, unlocked at Tier 80, has Tracer in a full set of armor. It was met with a lot of initial excitement, with fans applauding Blizzard for the unique progression concept as well as Tracer's adorable appearance.

Amaterasu Kiriko Mythic Skin

When it comes to customization, this Mythic skin can't be beat. There are 54 total combinations, with players having the opportunity to choose her headpiece, hair, overall color, and weapon appearance.

Not only is the customization quite impressive, but the skin itself is just quite striking. The crown, glowing eyes, and intricate details of her outfit have players in awe. Many are begging for it to be re-released for obvious reasons.

Onryō Hanzo Mythic Skin

hanzo mythic

This skin is a fan-favorite due to its bold appearance. The glowing skin, fangs, and horns have completely transformed the usually chill archer and fans are loving it. Unfortunately, the customization of this skin is quite limited in comparison to other Mythics. Developers explained that the focus was more on the VFX and transformed appearance and abilities rather than the customization but fans aren't sold.

Galactic Emperor Sigma Mythic Skin

sigma mythic

This Mythic skin is very, very customizable. It has 54 options total since you can transform Sigma's color, weapon, crown, and more. Many also like this badass look for the usually quite simple and shoe-less hero. The intense armor is an interesting change and really plays into his lore as a crazy scientist.

A-7000 Wargod Ana Mythic Skin

The background of this skin is quite interesting. The A-7000 was originally a failed attempt to replicate the conciousness of Ana inside a robotic frame. It gained her ruthlessness and sniping skills but her memories were left corrupted.

The customization on this skin is quite limited, however. The design has also left players torn. Some feel it's a bit dull in comparison to more vibrant Mythic skins but others love some of the details, including the voice and lines.

Zeus Junker Queen Mythic Skin

This Season 2 skin was inspired by the Olympic God, fitting into the game mode and theme at that time. It had many customization options, allowing players to change the armor pieces, color, and weapons. The visual effects were also quite impressive, with a focus on lightning and intense sound effects to go along with it.

Why so low, then? While pretty cool, fans just weren't super pumped about this skin. That could be due to Junker Queen not being the most popular hero or that it didn't feel all too revolutionary. Others said they even liked Junker Queen's Legendary skins more than this one. Womp.

Grand Beast Orisa Mythic Skin

Let's just be real... BORING. The lack of customization as well as the mid design have left many disappointed in this Mythic skin. A lot of Overwatch 2 players feel this is where the Mythic skins started to fall off.
