Final Chesnaught Tera Raid Canceled in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

  • May 19th through the 21st was supposed to be the final weekend for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet players to capture 7 Star Tera Raid Chesnaught.
  • Two Paradox Pokémon, Iron Treads and Great Tusk were also scheduled to show up in 5 Star Tera Raids this same weekend.
  • Due to a bug in the game that would crash the games after capturing the Paradox Pokémon, the raids have been canceled with plans to reschedule.

According to a tweet from the official Pokémon Company account on Twitter, the Chesnaught, Iron Treads and Great Tusk Tera Raids for the weekend of May 19th, 20th and 21st have been canceled due to a game breaking bug.

Paradox Pokémon Cause Crash

The game breaking bug comes from players who tried to capture the new Paradox Pokémon, Iron Treads and Great Tusk, in their 5 Star Tera Raids. This was due to an error in the rewards list that showed an item labeled as “none”.

It’s likely this error occurred based on the fact that most Pokémon defeated in a Tera Raid also give a material item used to make TM moves, but Paradox Pokémon do not have such items. So when the players left the raid and tried to re-enter the world, it caused a crash.

As a result, the Pokémon Company has decided to cancel the raids for this weekend, but does plan to reschedule them for a later date. For any players who had yet to capture their Chesnaught, this just gives them more time to prepare the best possible counter.

Chesnaught will Return

Currently, players have no idea when the rescheduling for the raids will happen, but they still have more to look forward to. Next week Pokémon Scarlet & Violet is getting a substantial update as the Pokémon Home feature is finally being added and opened up for the newest generation. This will also allow for the eighth generation, Hisuan variants to now enter the game.
