Tournament Format
Teams first progress through several preliminary divisions to enter the final VALORANT Champions 2024 tournament. The first is VALORANT Challengers, a semi-pro league that pits the best teams from each geographic region against each other. The top Challengers team in each of the main VALORANT regions (EMEA, Pacific, Americas and China) will compete in Ascension, where the winners of each Ascension tournament gain the ability to participate in the following year’s pro VCT circuit.
Meanwhile, RIOT has pre-approved ten teams from each VALORANT region within the existing pro circuit to compete. These are known as Partnered Teams and contain some of the top VALORANT players around the world. Partnered Teams duel it out in their Leagues until only the top three remain – these will continue to the Masters and Champions tournaments.
If International League teams do not qualify for VALORANT Champions 2024, all hope is not lost – they can enter the Last Chance qualifiers and attempt to earn the final Champions spots!
Game Changers, a RIOT-official tournament for women and marginalized genders aiming to progress VALORANT esports towards a co-ed future, also occurs during the 2024 season. Game Changers consists of periodic regional tournaments culminating in a Game Changers World Championship at the end of the year.

What notable changes have occurred in the 2024 Valorant Champions Tour circuit?
Although the 2024 season has just begun, teams are already restructuring and beginning practice. Most notably, C0M, Screwface and Boostio left Evil Geniuses on January 8th after a stellar 2023 season and VALORANT Champions victory. This shakeup and loss of a tried-and-true in-game leader, plus cohesive and skilled teammates, will majorly affect the team. IGL Boostio, who has joined 100 Thieves, is set to guide new teammates Asuna, bang, Cryocells and eeiu in the upcoming season. Meanwhile, Former Evil Geniuses teammate C0M has revealed a move to Argentinean powerhouse team Leviatán. Superstar Jett main Aspas has departed LOUD to join Leviatán as well.
VALORANT’s 2024 Champions Tour will be a wild ride. The new Outlaw weapon, major Killjoy and Deadlock changes and increased presence of Chinese teams promise a year of competition unlike any before. Stay tuned for further updates on the VALORANT Champions Tour circuit and the pro players who continue to inspire the VALORANT community.
