Quinton Carter, a safety with the Denver Broncos, is facing felony charges after allegedly cheating at a craps game last week at an off-strip Las Vegas casino.

For $15.

As in the cost of a movie ticket in Manhattan.

Carter, who is entering the third season of a four-year, $2.5 million contract, was arrested at the Texas Station casino in North Los Vegas when security officials reported he was spotted on camera adding a $5 chip to three bets after the dice had already been rolled.

The 24-year-old Carter has denied wrongdoing -- both to the police when they arrived and via Twitter -- but it still ranks among the most mind-numbing athlete arrests for stealing, swindling or shoplifting in recent memory. Here are nine other memorable ones.

Mike Leake

The Reds pitcher was picked up on a shoplifting charge in April 2011 for trying to steal six American Rag T-shirts from a Macy's department store. The total value of the shirts? $59.88. (Leake made $425,000 in 2011.)

Ryan O'Byrne

Then a first-year defenseman with the Canadiens, O'Byrne was arrested outside a South Tampa nightclub at 3 a.m. for stealing a woman's cell phone and purse, from which $20 was discovered missing. (O'Byrne made $590,000 that year.) The charges were dropped when O'Byrne read a letter of apology to the victim and agreed to do community service in Canada.

Michael Carter-Williams

The Syracuse point guard was caught shoplifting at a Lord & Taylor in December, paying the store a $500 fine to resolve the matter. That he ranked third in the nation in steals at the time lent the story an ironic grace note.

Craig Monroe

The Tigers outfielder was making an estimated $335,000 a year when in 2004 he was arrested at a Burdines-Macy's store in Florida for stealing a Club Room brand belt that cost $29.99.

Glen Johnson

The Liverpool defender who's been capped 46 times with the English national team was playing for Portsmouth in 2007 when he was caught trying to steal a toilet seat from a B&Q store -- by switching a more expensive seat into a cheaper box. He was fined £80 on the spot by the police.
