The Patriots and Panthers played an epic Monday night game that resulted in a Carolina victory and a livid Tom Brady cursing the refs after a last-second pass interference call was waved off.Cam Newton had the play of the game with this 14-yard scramble on a third down while Panthers receiver Steve Smith made Patriots cornerback Aqib Talib "another notch in his bedpost" after grabbing four catches for 62 yards. But the game's final play is the one everyone is talking about. ESPN brought in retired referee Gerry Austin to explain the call but his explanation didn't exactly help matters.Bill Belichick was just as confused as everyone. "It was the last play of the game, I don’t know what happened," said the Patriots coach in a memorable postgame press conference. "There was a flag thrown, and then the game was over.  I don’t know."

Instant fame. Just ask Knicks fan Jon Squire, who sent J.R. Smith $60 in cash after winning a $120 bet with a friend that he could score more points in NBA2K13 using Smith than his friend could score using the entire Miami Heat squad. Smith then posted the cash and note to his Instagram account.

I think I'd be bigger in Chicago or L.A. or somewhere.") and the state of sports ("Pro sports has become filthy; it's a double-dealing, rotten business. There's all this terror and intrigue and fratricide. I'm sick of it. Sports should be fun").
