Coming soon to a movie theatre near you: A highly-efficient delivery system for abject guilt. The rights to turn Steve Fainaru and Mark Fainaru-Wada's book and PBS documentary League of Denial into a feature film have been purchased, Deadline reports. The work documented how the NFL's leadership systematically and seemingly deliberately sought to discredit the work of scientific discoveries on the long-term danger of concussions. You may know the documentary better as the project from which ESPN controversially disengaged itself.
The news comes about a month after the announcement that Ridley Scott plans to direct a drama along similar lines. Combined, the two films should ensure that the cloud hanging over the NFL will get much darker.
