A Pixar Animator Drew a Picture of Philip Rivers and His Mythical Bolo Tie
For the third time in just over a month (see here and here for previous incarnations), Philip Rivers sported a bolo tie in his post-win press conference this past Sunday. The silly shiny string ornament was the Chargers quarterback's response to head coach Mike McCoy's dress code. “We had to go to coat and tie this year,” Rivers explained, via NBC San Diego. “That was my way to not have a neck tie.”
As these things tend to do, the civil disobedience has sparked something of a movement amongst Chargers fans. The team is encouraging "Bolo Tie Friday", one restaurant is offering free tacos to bolo-wearing patrons, the blog Lobshots directed its readers to purchase the item at a western-themed market, and an illustration was apparently DEMANDED from Pixar animator Bobby Rubio:
