Puma and Konami Have Teamed Up to Create Metal Gear Solid Shoes
If you're excited about the fifth installment of Metal Gear Solid, the original (and greatest) espionage game series, you can show your fandom by wearing matching jackets, shoes and watches.
No, not matching as in Solid Snake-style outfits. Matching as in clothing branded with the Metal Gear Solid logo. Earlier this week Metal Gear creator Hideo Kokima tweeted a photo of the shoes, then confirmed the brand's collaboration with Puma with this tweet.
Konami's Japanese store are selling that pair of gold and black high-tops right now, along with two track jackets, along with a Seiko watch. The watch is an analog watch and not the one the Big Boss wears in the game.
The shoes cost about 20,000 yen, which is around $195, and the two jackets go for $147. The camo-one (so, you know, you can hide in the shadows a la Snake) is already sold out.
This isn't the first time Konami pimped out Metal Gear Solid merchandise that seems to completely go against everything Snake stands for. In years past there's been a Metal Gear Solid iPod and even a Metal Gear Solid Axe Body Spray.
The next game, Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes, is set to hit stores on March 18 for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
