Pop starlet Rihanna has certainly made waves in recent days, mostly due to her interesting choice of clothing (or lack of) which she debuted during a recent NBA game.
But Rihanna is also making news for what happened to her during Game 3 of the Western Conference playoffs between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Los Angeles Clippers.
Sitting courtside, right next to the singer, was L.A. Police Commission President Steve Soboroff who asked Rihanna for a picture.
As the two posed for their selfie, Ri-Ri lost her grip on Soboroff's phone, cracking it as it dropped to the hardwood.
The iPhone still worked, but feeling bad, the singer decided to donate $25,000 to the Los Angeles Police Foundation and provided Soboroff with a new phone. As for the old phone? She autographed it and went on her way.
No longer needing the shattered, though working, iPhone, Soboroff placed it on eBay hoping to make a few dollars for the aforementioned foundation (along with the Los Angeles Police Memorial Fund) with a three-day auction starting at a reasonable $250 dollars.
But as word of the phone began to leak, the bids continued to increase before finally peaking at $66,500, all of which will be going to a good cause.
