Whether it's because he's a really great guy, or because he feels bad about crushing the host nation, German forward Mesut Özil has decided to donate his World Cup bonus to support charity work in Brazil.

Post by Mesut Özil.

There was rumor on the internet that Özil was donating his bonus to people in Gaza, but his spokesman told the AP that wasn't true.

According to ESPN, each German player received a bonus of €300,000, which is a little more than $400,000.
