Take Me Out To The Ballgame

eddie-vedder-andy-milovich

Pearl Jam singer Eddie Vedder and Myrtle Beach Pelicans GM Andy Milovich both sang Take Me Out To The Ballgame last night, albeit under very different circumstances. Vedder sang during the Cubs-Padres matchup while Milovich performed during the Pelicans-Keys game. The only real difference (besides the size of the crowd) is that Milovich was getting a prostate exam during his performance. So why does Milovich look much happier?

When Athletes Had Hair

Yesterday was Throwback Thursday and Extra Mustard looked back on when (now) bald athletes and coaches had hair. My favorites include Andre Agassi, Michael Jordan and Jeff Van Gundy (though I've been a fan of fully-follicled Van Gundy for years).

Twitter Etiquette Question

Texas Longhorns cornerbackQuandre Diggs spent part of Big 12 Media Day complaining about how Kevin Durant followed, then unfollowed him on Twitter. And he's not happy about it.  "What's up with K.D.?" Diggs said. "I thought we were supposed to be UT forever. I understand, LeBron is my favorite player, but K.D. is a close second. He followed me, then he unfollowed me, which I think is disrespectful."

I disagree but needed an expert opinion. So I reached out to SI's own Richard Deitsch about this important matter and he said, "The unfollow seems to upset the under-30 crowd. More heartbreak then diss." There you have it. What do you think?

Lovely Lady of the Day

I called on good friend Anastasia Ashley for a Friday LLOD recommendation and she nominated Jaimie Sullivan. I think Anastasia has great taste in women (click here for full-size version of gallery).

When Doubles Tennis Goes Wrong

Philadelphia Freedoms teammates Taylor Townsend and partner Liezel Huber were in the middle of a doubles matchup at a World TeamTennis event on Thursday when Huber went down with an injury after Townsend's forehand accidentally plunked her in the head. So what happens at a World TeamTennis doubles match when one competitor goes down, you ask? The other team member is forced to go at it alone, playing 2-on-1 for the rest of the match, as Townsend did last night. It made for some unusual photos.

Buy Michael Jordan's Contract

MJ made a cool $33 mil during the 1997-98 season and you can buy the 24-page contract that mammoth salary was made legal on. The current high bid is $37,500

Walter Payton, who died of liver disease in 1999, would've turned 60 today. Here is a big gallery of Sweetness photos to celebrate, including this great shot of Phil Collins, his son and Payton in 1986. For more classic sports photos, visit the SI Vault on Twitter.
