The NFL's Top Cornerback?

dee-milliner-hot-clicks

It's one thing to play with confidence, but Jets cornerback Dee Milliner has taken it to a whole different level. In an interview with the New York Daily News, the second-year defender proclaimed himself the top cornerback in football.“ "The best corner in the league? Me,” Milliner said. “I ain’t gonna say that somebody else is better than me. Don’t care if they’ve been in the league 10 years and I’ve been here five months. That’s how it’s going to go. I’m the best." For perspective, SI's Doug Farrar ranked the NFL's top cornerbacks and Milliner didn't rank among the top 10 (or even five honorable mentions). I asked Farrar where he'd rank the Jets cornerback and he placed him at No. 68. NFL fans, unsurprisingly, took to Twitter and made fun of Milliner's ridiculous claim.

Also of note: The last weekend without football until February just concluded. Hallelujah.

Buy DeSean Jackson's Puppies

The Redskins receiver is getting into the breeding business after his American Bully gave birth to 11 pups last weekend. And you can own one for just $1,200.

Lovely Lady of the Day

Derek from Detroit suggested I check out local hero Carly Francavilla, who has#DetroitPride and #PureMichigan as part of her Twitter bio. That kind of hometown respect earns her LLOD honors (click here for full-size gallery).

NFL Tattoos of the Weekend

A Buffalo fan is so confident that his team will win the Super Bowl, he got a "Bills '15 Super Bowl Champs" tattooed on his leg. Not to be outdone, this fan had all 22 Redskins starters sign his right arm and got all those signatures tattooed into his skin.

Yankee Fan Returns Lost Red Sox World Series Ring

I don't want to say this rivalry is dead, but not only did an NYC restaurant owner return the Red Sox World Series ring, but also the guy who lost the ring (the owner of the Class-A Lowell Spinners, a Red Sox-affiliated franchise) invited the restaurant owner to Fenway Park for a Yankees game in September and donated to a charity of his choice. I miss the good old days.

On this day in 2001, Gisel Mora (wife of Melvin) gave birth to quintuplets -- three girls and two boys (Genesis Raquel, Jada Priscilla, Rebekah Alesha, Christian Emmanuel and Matthew David). I'll let Jerry Seinfeld handle commentary on this one. For more classic sports photos, visit the SI Vault on Twitter.

Do not try to rob the gas station of MMA fighter Mayura Dissanyak (or the home of WWE star Daniel Bryan, for that matter).
