Kobe Bryant visited Shanghai for the Nike RISE Campaign and decided to let some fans compete against him in one-on-one. So Kobe, ever the diplomat, took it easy on this one fan and let him win. Just kidding. Instead, he showed off an array of spin moves and somewhat embarrassed the guy.

Tweet of the Day: MLB Trade Deadline Edition

Thursday may have been the most exciting MLB trade deadline ever andTom Verducci has a great piece on the flurry of moves. My big winner, however, is Fox 2 News in Detroit, which took a mean-spirited tweet from the Fox 13 in Tampa Bay and responded perfectly. Honorable mention to A's relieverSean Doolittle for this mini-shot at Justin Verlander.

Tweet of the Day: Everything Else Edition

Leyton Orient, an east London-based professional football club, had a great take on the use of vanishing spray in this season's Johnston's Paint Trophy.

How Well Do You Know Your Sports Superstitions?

Alabama's No. 1 Fan

Meet Bobby Hunter, 32, who spent 103 hours (yes, 103 hours) waiting first in line for Alabama Fan Day.

Julie James, Edgerrin James and Peyton Manning :: Theo Westenberger/SI

Edgerrin James, who won me a ton of fantasy games back in the day,  turned 36 today. In this 1999 photo, James is joined by his mom, Julie, and Colts teammate Peyton Manning as he gets fitted for a suit. For more classic sports photos, visit the SI Vault on Twitter.

Odds & Ends

Tigers outfielder Austin Jackson was traded in the middle of an inning and received a standing ovation as he left the field ... The Red Sox and Yankees completed their first trade since 1997 ... Mason Plumlee will likely make the Team USA roster over DeMarcus Cousins ...Jamie Foxx will play Mike Tyson in an upcoming biopic ... The Cowboys have the NFL's best fanbase, according to this complicated study ... The 19 worst things about Woodstock '99 ... 3.9 million people watched Sharknado 2, setting a new record for SyFy ... There is now ice cream that changes colors as you eat it.

Armless Man Throws First Pitch

Tom Willis throws out the first pitch (with his foot) before Thursday's Twins-Royals game. This is amazing.

Jerry Garcia Does Letterman

The Grateful Dead guitarist would've turned 72 today. Here he is in 1982 with David Letterman.

For the Parks and Rec Fans

Chris Pratt spoke with Seth Myers about the time he got in trouble with NBC for being naked on the show.
