The Mets are taking the train from Washington, DC to Philadelphia
The New York Mets will be taking an Amtrak train from Washington D.C., to Philadelphia to play the Phillies today.
The New York Mets will be stepping back in time several decades following their game against the Washington Nationals today, traveling by train to Philadelphia instead of the chartered plane the team is used to.
What sparked the decision has not been reported, so it could be anything from nostalgia for the good old days (possible), to the team being out of money (unlikely), to Jacob deGrom and Eric Young Jr. being train buffs (hopefully).

The team is not going to take all its equipment on the train and has instead arranged for some of its preferred Phillies moving trucks.
