Football Season Has Arrived

miami-lawn.jpg

Labor Day has come and gone, which means one thing: Football season is finally here. Martin Rickman has a good wrapup of college football's opening weekend, while Manny Pacquiao sang a ballad about the NFL. Meanwhile, this Miami fan painted his yard for game day and this Vols fan sent a message with his chest hair. And even though this has nothing to do with football, anything involving chest hair should include a photo of this guy.

Usain Bolt vs. 103-Year-Old Man

Usain Bolt has been called out. Hidekichi Miyazaki, a 103-year-old Japanese sprinter, has challenged the Olympic champion to a race. Miyazaki stands just five-feet tall and weighs 92 pounds but has a strong strategy for success. "When I eat, I chew each mouthful 30 times before swallowing. That makes my tummy happy and helps my running." Miyazaki's biggest challenge seems to be starting races. He has bad hearing and doesn't always realize when the starting gun has been fired.

Honey I Shrunk the Linebacker

Browns linebacker Christian Kirksey is listed at 6-foot-2, 235-pounds. Unfortunately, his Madden '15 likeness doesn't quite measure up. Through a glitch in the game, Kirksey is listed at 1-foot-2, 235-pounds, a full five feet shorter than in real life. The rookie is taking it in stride, tweeting out this message:"No matter how small you are, have big dreams, and live big! #madden #glitch #1'2 #reallyLOL #goodmessagetho."

Lovely Lady of the Day: Shanina Shaik

I post a lot of Australian models in this space and Shanina Shaik is my favorite of the bunch. She earns today's LLOD honors (click here for full-size gallery).

They Are Making Another Rocky. Seriously.

Not sure if this is news that everyone knew but me, but another Rocky film is in the pipeline.Michael B. Jordan will be playing the role of Apollo Creed’s boxer grandson and Sylvester Stallone will be reprising his role as Rocky Balboa. Stallone is currently training for his role in Rambo 5 while I hold out the small hope of an Over the Top sequel.

Kevin Durant Celebrates

Nike has matched Under Armour's contract offer, which will add a cool $265 million to the Thunder forward's bank account over the next decade. Durant celebrated by taking shots (the alcoholic kind) with his former Texas teammates at a friend's wedding while Andre Iguodala made a great joke about the Under Armour/Nike situation.

This 1986 ad for the AWA's WrestleRock Rumble may be the most '80s thing ever.

Eye of the Tiger

Jimi Jamison, lead singer of Survivor, passed away over the weekend. Here's his biggest hit, Eye of the Tiger, set to Rocky highlights.

Update: I'm an idiot. Jimi Jamison was not in Survivor when Eye of the Tiger came out. My bad. Thanks to Jason from Barrington, IL for the correction.
