Metta World Peace, formerly Ron Artest, currently known as "The Panda's Friend", will be playing for the Sichuan Blue Whales of the Chinese Basketball Association this season. That part is old news. The exciting thing is he will be wearing shoes with a detachable panda head when he plays!

That's not even the best part. Here's what World Peace/Panda's Friend/Artest told courtsideaccess.com:

"The top part of the shoe has a panda on it…it is removable. I will be throwing it to a friend in the crowd. The person who catches it will be the Panda’s Friend of the day."
