Oklahoma City gave its D-League team a dumb name
The Oklahoma City Thunder revealed the name and logo of its new D-League team, the Oklahoma City Blue, and the internet does not like it one bit.
• Pau Gasol recorded a Christmas song for charity
How did they come up with a team name like Blue? Is Russell Westbrook a big Yves Klein fan? Did Thunder owner Clay Bennett lose a bet? Nope, the team's senior VP of sales, Brian Byrnes, explained the origins of the team name, and they are more boring than you could ever imagine.
• 49ers' Colin Kaepernick has 2 rooms for his 400 pairs of shoes
"Blue is one of our primary Thunder colors, but it has become more than just a color for us. It has come to represent the passion, loyalty and unity of our fans and our community in their support for our team."
If you love the Thunder, basketball, or just the color blue, you can start cheering for the team when its season begins against the Maine Red Claws on Nov. 14.
