Giants tight end Larry Donnell, like any sensible NFL player, owns himself in fantasy football.

Giants tight end Larry Donnell, like the majority of fantasy players, benched himself the week he caught three touchdowns.

Donnell told Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record that he opted to start the 49ers' Vernon Davis in Week 4. Davis had two catches for eight yards before he left the game with an injury. Donnell had 54 yards and three touchdowns. Ouch.

Stevie Johnson has great comeback for fantasy football critics

"Would’ve won if I played me," Donnell told Stapleton. "During the game, I’m like, ‘Really?’ That’s the honest truth."

The good news is Donnell says he's learned his lesson and is starting himself this week. Hopefully he can make a trade and get something in return for Davis.
