Don't Stop Believin'

San Francisco Giants :: AP

The Giants finished off the Nationals last night with a 3-2 victory and will face the Cardinals (who knocked out the Dodgers) in the NLCS. Hunter Pence was a hero on the field for this ridiculous catch, while Madison Bumgarner was the hero in the locker room for pounding five beers at once to celebrate the victory. The Nats' lone bright spot was this moonshot by Bryce Harper and his dugout celebration afterwards. I've saved the best for last: Former Journey frontman Steve Perry was at AT&T Park and led the crowd in a Don't Stop Believin' sing-along during the eighth inning.

New Sport: Old-Fashioned Golf

The World Hickory Open Golf Championship kicks off this week in Scotland. The tournament features players using hickory-shafted clubs that date to the late 1800s while dressed in plus fours and flat caps (for the men) and long skirts (for the women). It kind of reminds me of The Legend of Bagger Vance, which is a surprisingly terrible movie considering the cast.

A Tale of Two Schools

Slate has an excellent piece on the ways Florida State and Florida responded to allegations of sexual assault against their quarterbacks. Spoiler alert: Florida State didn't do very well.

Lovely Lady of the Day

Latina Magazine held its annual "Hollywood Hot List" party last Thursday and it was a potpourri of LLOD candidates. Bianca A. Santos caught my eye and she earns today's honors (click here for full-size gallery).

Six-Layer Cereal Cake

From the "Nothing to do with sports but still fascinating" department, six-layer cereal cake is now a thing, courtesy of Chef Charles Phoenix. It consists of Apple Jacks with spice cake, Trix with blue velvet cake, Cinnamon Toast Crunch with yellow cake, Peanut Butter Crunch with chocolate cake, Froot Loops with red food-colored white cake and Cocoa Puffs with white cake. There's a good Josh Gordon/munchies joke in there somewhere.

The Sixers are in Spain for a pair of exhibition games and Twitter King Joel Embiid shared this video of teammate Nerlens Noel dancing with a random old Spanish woman. This reminded me of the 1992 Summer Olympics, during which David Robinson (and his jorts) walked through Barcelona and wound up playing saxophone on a random street corner. Let's hope he raised enough money to find a bed that fits him. For more classic sports photos, visit the SI Vault on Twitter.

The Spurs legend goes on the prowl for a good sandwich during the team's trip to Germany.

Bill Hader is Back

Hader, my favorite Saturday Night Live cast member of the last decade, returns to host the show this weekend. Here are some promos for his big return.

Price is Right Fail

This may be the worst bid in Price is Right history. Ignore the curse word at the end -- you were probably thinking the same exact thing.
