Concession Food Item of the Week: Burgers & Bombs
We’re halfway through the college football season and all this hootin’ and hollerin’ is making us a little hungry. This week we present a new concession item at the Rose Bowl, a creation of chef Wolfgang Puck (we're trying to class it up around here).
WHAT IS THIS WITCHCRAFT?:Burgers & Bombs
WHO HATH WROUGHT THIS MONTROSITY?: The Rose Bowl, home of the UCLA Bruins.
WHAT COMPRISES SUCH A THING?: The signature Rose Bowl burger (60% chuck, 30% sirloin, 10% short rib) is served in a sourdough bun and topped with aged California cheddar, crushed avocado and double-topped with a stuffed jalapeño wrapped in bacon. And if that’s not enough, the burger also comes with a side of mac n’ cheese bites in a crispy potato crust, aka, little fried puffs of cheesy heaven.
HOW GUILTY WILL I FEEL ABOUT EATING THIS?: The meal comes to around 1,000 calories. But may we remind you that this is a masterpiece by celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck. You can have a “Get Out of Jail Free” card for eating this gourmet grub.
BUT WILL I HAVE TO PAY GOURMET PRICES? Nope, a fine dining experience for only $17.
