The New Touchdown King

Peyton Manning :: AP

Peyton Manning broke Brett Favre's career record for most touchdown passes in Denver's 42-17 victory over San Francisco. His receivers celebrated by playing Keep Away From Peyton, which wasn't nearly as funny as Jenn Sterger's celebratory tweet. The weekend's most exciting game took place in St. Louis, where the Rams fooled the Seahawks to score one special team touchdown and then faked a punt to seal the victory. My two favorite stories from Sunday were this 80-year-old woman (and lifelong Packers fan) attending her first game and Giants linebacker Jameel McClain disputing Tony Romo's proclamation that he is the "Mike." Also of note: The Bears were fighting in the locker room following their loss to Miami, Steve Smith got into fights with Desmond Trufant and Kemal Ishmael during the Ravens-Falcons game while Darnell Dockett tried to get all of Raider Nation to fight him with this sign.

College Football Round-Up

As I say every Monday, catch up on the weekend in college football by reading Martin Rickman's Between the Hashes and Andy Staples' Punt, Pass and Pork. My three favorite items from the weekend were Nick (son of Joe) Montana, who plays QB for Tulane, spiking the ball on fourth down to stop the clock, LenDale White getting booted from the USC sideline (then going off on AD Pat Haden) and the handlebar mustache of West Virginia punter Nick O'Toole.

Worst Songs Ever Written About Sports

How did I not know the 1986 Mets had a song called Metsmerized?

Lovely Lady of the Day

Hunter King turned 21 today and I've never featured her as LLOD. Candice Swanepoel turned 25 and I've featured her a bunch of times. In the interest of trying new things, let's make Hunter today's LLOD (click here for full-size gallery).

I Wanna Kiss You

Joe Namath famously uttered those words during a 2003 interview with ESPN's Suzy Kolber. Cavs forward Tristan Thompson wasn't as coy. During an interview with Fox Sports sideline reporter Allie Clifton on Friday, he went right in for the kiss. She did not seem amused.

It's Keith Hernandez's 61st birthday. I'm so excited I made a collage to show off his mustache through the years. I also suggest checking out this 1987 photo of him smoking a cigarette in the Mets dugout because how often do you get to see a baseball player smoking a cigarette in the dugout? Plus you get to see SI's new and improved Photo Blog on Tumblr (cheap plug). For more classic sports photos, visit the SI Vault on Twitter.

OSU Marching Band Strikes Again

I can't say enough good things about this tribute to classic rock.

Could This Game Be Any More Real?

The Hall of Very Good looks back at player-licensed video games and came upon this great ad, circa 1994, for 'Ken Griffey Jr. Presents Major League Baseball.'

Feel-Good Video of the Day

Eight-year-old Gabe White, who has Down Syndrome, scores a touchdown during a high school game between Rhinelander (Wisc.) and rival Mosinee. (H/T Sporting News)

Feel-Good Video of the Day (Runner-up)

An elderly man in Kentucky who had stopped eating and was so frail he could barely speak does a complete turn-around after being reunited with his Chihuahua. Read the story - it's pretty amazing.

Citizen Pulls Cop Over

A citizen pulls over a Washington state police officer, demands ID and informs him that that stopping people in an unmarked car is in violation of state law. I want this guy to be my lawyer for everything.
