Broncos play keep-away with Peyton Manning's record touchdown ball

Peyton Manning has a bit of a reputation as a practical joker. But on Sunday night, the pranking was turned on him.

Peyton Manning has a bit of a reputation as a practical joker. But on Sunday night, he became the target of pranksters from his own team.

A few members of his wide-receiving corps -- including favorite targets Wes Welker, Demaryius Thomas, and Emmanuel Sanders -- played keep-away with the ball that Manning threw to Thomas to break Brett Favre's career passing touchdowns record.

Here's the Vine:

Manning joked in an interview with NBC's Michelle Tafoya after the game that his vertical leap is "just not there anymore."

"I heard a little whisper about that. I didn’t think they were actually going to do it," Manning said. "I haven’t played keep-away since I was probably 8 years old. So that’s something I’m definitely going to remember."

Demariyus Thomas later told reporters that the team had planned the keep-away routine in advance, with Manning even holding a dress rehearsal of the moment.
