The Giants paid a visit to the Royals in August, during the height of the "Hunter Pence signs" craze. One Kansas City fan held up a sign which read "Hunter Pence thinks he's in Kansas." According to Yahoo's Tim Brown, Pence said saw the sign and thought, "We're not?"

"I guess I'm really bad at geography," Pence elaborated. "This is Missouri, correct? It's tricky."

It is tricky, Hunter. Kansas City, Missouri, and Kansas City, Kansas, share a name and border each other, but the Missouri city has more than triple the population of its neighbor. Kauffman Stadium, where the Royals play, and Arrowhead Stadium, home of the Chiefs, are both in Missouri, but the MLS team Sporting Kansas City plays in Kansas.

Kansas City, Kansas, also has a professional baseball team: the Kansas City T-Bones of the independent American Association. The T-Bones are not in the World Series.
