A security guard at a St. Louis Rams training facility didn't recognize starting quarterback Austin Davis when he showed up there to work out, NBC Sports' Dan Patrick found out on his radio show Monday

The guard reportedly asked Davis for identification before letting him into the facility, which Patrick and ostensibly much of America found quite humorous.

Davis is still an unknown commodity to many in and around the NFL besides employees of his own team. The former Southern Miss. walk on who went undrafted in the 2012 NFL Draft earned the starting role after injuries befell both quarterback Sam Bradford and quarterback Shaun Hill.

This implicit 'diss' didn't appear to affect Davis' on-field ability in any way Sunday, when he led his team to victory over the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks, completing 18-21 passes for 152 yards and two touchdowns. Davis has started five of the Rams' six games so far this season, throwing for 1517 yards.

The security guard was not reached for comment.
