Packers' Julius Peppers has touchdown pass bounce off his chest
Green Bay Packers defensive end Julius Peppers was oh-so-close Sunday night to joining a rare group of defensive players who have caught a touchdown pass.
Peppers came in on the Packers' goal-line offensive set and suddenly split out wide left. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers targeted Peppers who was the only receiver on that side of the field. Peppers had the pass in his hands, but it bounced off his chest and fell to the ground.
To make things worse for the Packers, Rodgers was sacked on the next play, and the team settled for a field goal on the drive.
Peppers, though, did help out on his normal side of the ball. He sacked New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees during the first half Sunday night.
