Wednesday's A.M. Hot Clicks: Who's excited for a Game 7?
Going the Distance
The World Series will go to a Game 7 after the Royals pounded the Giants 10-0 in Kansas City last night. Yordano Ventura overcame an awful warmup session (which he claims was intentional) and pitched seven shutout innings. He even made time for a quick Michael Jackson impression. Giants superfan Steve Perry made it to the game only to get hazed by fans a few seats away.
Jose Canseco Update
Jose Canseco underwent surgery this morning after accidentally shooting his left middle finger while cleaning his handgun. It is not known whether he'll ever regain use of the finger. His fiancee, Leila Knight, said, "The doctors said they would either have to amputate or do reconstructive surgery. But if they do surgery, he won’t be able to use it again. He blew away an artery and a big bone chunk.”
Michael Jordan's Twitter Takeover
Micahel Jordan took over the Hornets Twitter account yesterday and showed off his sneaker collection, photobombed the lovely Eryn Gradwell and gave Keegan Bradley a lesson in trash talk. All in all, a great day for MJ -- kind of makes you want to grab your umbrella and dance around a dorm room.

Best (or Worst) Idea Ever
Vivek Ranadive, the new owner of the Sacramento Kings, has an interesting idea for his team's defensive strategy. Instead of sending all five guys back to play D, he may have one of his players cherry-pick and have the team play 4-on-5 defense so a long outlet pass can be converting into an easy basket. If you've never seen Ranadive, here's video of the Kings war room as they made the Nik Stauskas selection.

From the SI Vault
Gordie Howe poses with 1,071 pucks, the total number of regular and postseason goals he scored during his 32-year career in the NHL and WHA. Howe suffered a "pretty bad stroke" on Sunday, according to his son Murray, who told the Detroit Free Press, "I feel like this is his last lap around the rink. I'm guessing he's not going to recover ... but then again, he's about as strong as they get. If anyone can do it, he can."
Odds & Ends
