Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy made the jump from sports famous to internet famous when his passionate defense of one of his players went viral in 2007, thanks to the meme-worthy phrase, "I'm a man! I'm 40!"

Seven years later, the coach is talking about the memorable moment with Seth Davis of Campus Insiders, and he admits he tried to cash in on the phenomenon, but someone beat him to the punch.

Gundy said he doesn't hear the phrase too often these days, except for in his own home, where his 12-year-old son has memorized the speech and will occasionally perform it for friends.
