The New York Times has created another cool map to illustrate college football fandom. The first showed where fans of each school lived. This one shows where people are fans of any college football team.

As with the first map, the data is a reflection of the number of people in a given county who "like" a college football page on Facebook.

The results aren't terribly surprising. Alabama, home to four of the last five national champions, shows the strongest support. SEC country on the whole ranks pretty highly, as does the Big Ten (except for Minnesota). California and the Northeast don't care much for the college game.

Definitely go to the Times' website, where you can check out each county individually and figure out what's up with that weird blank spot in Nebraska.
