Jose Canseco has admitted that his finger did not actually fall off while he was playing in a poker tournament.

Canseco's finger first fell into peril last month when he shot it off while cleaning his guns. The digit was successfully reattached after the incident.

Then the former Oakland A's slugger tweeted the finger fell off while he was playing in a poker tournament, claiming that there was video of the incident that he had sold to a media outlet, adding that he was thinking of selling the finger and the gun that shot it off on eBay.

Now Canseco has admitted to TMZ Sports that the incident never happened, and he got the idea for the Twitter ruse when he saw a fake bloody finger in a Halloween store.

So to recap, Jose Canseco really did shoot his finger off, but it was successfully reattached and will not be up for sale on eBay. Also, comets are the key to human survival.
