MMA is a brutal sport, so the fighters have to be sure their equipment can stand up to the toughest tests.

A fighter's most important piece of gear might be their cup, so naturally UFC fighter Daron Cruickshank decided to put his to the test. Cruickshank grabbed a .45 caliber pistol, put the cup in his sights and pulled the trigger.

When he went to inspect the damage, he found the cup had done its job. It was dented, but the bullet didn't pierce through.

Now that Cruickshank knows how durable his gear is, he has no reason to be afraid of flying knees.
