Update: It turns out the local steel mill turned the fans away so an enterprising fan cut the posts up for everyone himself in a nearby lot.
The Marshall Thundering Herd claimed the Conference USA title with a win over Louisiana Tech on Saturday to finish its season 12-1.
Fans stormed the field and tore down the goalposts to celebrate the season, but then they put a special twist on the moment by marching the uprights out of the stadium and down the street to a local steel mill, to be cut into souvenir-sized pieces.
