SI's Best Portraits of 2014
Joakim Noah :: Chicago Bulls
Sports Illustrated has always been known for its photography. Our action shots are among the best in the world. But through the years, Sports Illustrated has also produced some of the greatest portraits of athletes. This year, our 60th anniversary, is no different. From Joakim Noah by Todd Rosenberg, to PK Subban by John Huet, to this year's Sportsman of the Year, Madison Bumgarner by Robert Beck. These portraits show us the athletes we follow, as the people we admire. We hope you enjoy them.

NHL Meets The Hobbit
The Bakersfield Condors, who wore "Puffy Shirt" jerseys last month to honor Seinfeld's 25th anniversary, are at it again. The team announced it will wear a special jersey this Saturday based on the recently released movie The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. On another note, I'm disappointed nobody wore a Shawshank Redemption-inspired uniform this year for the 20th anniversary of the film. Rocky IV turns 30 in 2015. Maybe a team can do something with that.
Best Race Ever
Fitness enthusiasts, mark your calendar for Feb. 6. On that date, runners will race a grand total of one foot in the Philly 0.0 Instant Gratification Run. "Runners" will have to pay $35 to take part in the event and will receive a t-shirt, post-race goods and all the other swag that comes with a long-distance run.
