As if the controversy surrounding the Patriots wasn't strange enough, Bill Belichick had to go and reference the 1992 film My Cousin Vinny in his press conference Saturday.

"I'm not a scientist. I'm not an expert in footballs. I'm not an expert in football measurements. I'm just telling you what I know," Belichick said, according to NFL.com. "I would not say I'm Mona Lisa Vito of the football world, as she was in the car-expertise area."

Belichick, who isn't really known for his sense of humor, was referencing Marisa Tomei's character in the movie.

Tomei told Rich Eisen of the NFL Network that people immediately started texting her about it. She even traded texts with her co-star, Joe Pesci, who despite being 71 years old is apparently emoji-literate.

As for whether or not Belichick was as authoritative as Tomei's character, she thinks his explanation was "pretty darn believable." She might be the only one
