To people outside New Orleans, this commercial for Pelicans tickets might be a bit of a head-scratcher, but the players aren't dressed in outdated outfits for no reason.

It turns out the ad is a spoof on an old commercial for a New Orleans furniture store called Frankie and Johnny's. That's why Ryan Anderson is wearing a gray wig and hideous glasses, and Anthony Davis is holding a fake cigar.

Thunder's Dion Waiters didn't know he had become a Vine star

Davis might be the star on the court, but Anderson is the star of the commercial and took his role pretty seriously.

"I watched the (Frankie and Johnny) commercial maybe like 18, 19, maybe 20 times," Anderson told The Times-Picayune. "I really wanted to embrace that role. He's an interesting character. I've never really seen anyone like him. He has sort of a Jersey accent. He is not necessarily looking at the camera, which is tough. You have to really observe."
