Wednesday's P.M. Hot Clicks: Patriots Victory Parade
Happy Hump Day, everyone! Pete Blackburn stepping in for Andy this afternoon to deliver some of the Internet's hottest clicks right in your wheelhouse. I'll be covering both editions tomorrow as well, so feel free to send some great content my way on Twitter - @PeteBlackburn.
Patriots Party Hard at Parade
Despite gridlocked traffic and over 30 inches of snow on the ground, over a million fans showed up to the New England Patriots' Super Bowl parade through the city of Boston on Wednesday afternoon. Front-runners for Parade MVP were Julian Edelman, who seemed to REALLY enjoy himself during the procession, and Rob Gronkowski (obviously), who chugged some beers and changed his uniform number. The true winner, though, has to be Tom Brady's young son, who might be the cutest child ever.
Signing Day Shenanigans
Today is Signing Day for those college football recruits who have yet to commit, and while it's a huge day for the future of players and programs alike, a lot of fun was had. A player used a coin flip to make his decision, Nebraska kept its recruiting office very lively, Boise State's head coach announced the signing of a timely meme, and Soso Jamabo - the running back who said he was considering University of Phoenix & ITT Tech - once again decided to try to draw some laughs.
ESPN Getting Back Into Pro Hockey
News broke last night that ESPN won the bid to broadcast the World Cup of Hockey next year, beating out NBC and Fox. According to reports, NBC is upset because it believes the NHL withheld the news until after the Super Bowl so that it could use the network's venues.
Lovely Lady of the Day
Since Andy handed me the reigns for today's P.M. Edition, I'm going to hand out LLOD honors to one of my biggest Hollywood crushes -- actress Blake Lively. (Click here for full-sized gallery.)
Forever T-Mac
Bleacher Report has a wonderful (and beautifully laid out) piece on Tracy McGrady - one of my favorite players growing up - and his career, as well as the struggles that come with life after the NBA.
Seriously?
Wild Wednesday In Boston
That Seems...Not Good
Odds & Ends
Tom Brady and Pete Carroll, who were both mic'd up during the Super Bowl -- had very great (and very different) reactions to the game-ending interception... A junior hockey player was suspended for the season after slashing a referee... Hockey fans in the first row: Stop putting your beers on the glass... Noted USC fan Snoop Dogg bit the bullet and wore a UCLA jersey to support his son on Signing Day... Someone made an inspirational video based on an Arian Foster poem... The Islanders wore their infamous Fisherman logos in warmups before last night's game and this guy couldn't have been more excited about it... A high school player in Virginia drilled a lucky full-court shot.
Absurd Hole-In-One
Australian golfer Richard Green sank this crazy lucky ace on a Par 4.
Save Of The Year?
Predators goalie Carter Hutton made this ridiculous denial during last night's game against the Maple Leafs.
Checking In On The Mountain From 'Game of Thrones
Just carrying 1400 lb. logs on his shoulders. No big deal.
