Nationals' 2015 promotions include Star Wars Day, gnomes, Chia Pets
While MLB works through its pace-of-play debates, its teams are already coming up with foolproof ways to get fans into the ballpark.
The Washington Nationals released their 2015 promotional schedule on Friday, and it contains some gems.
Fresh off the success of last October's Jayson Werth gnome scavenger hunt and giveaway, the Nats will hold an Anthony Rendon garden gnome giveaway on Aug. 25.

But don't worry, Werth still gets to be a part of the weirdness. Aug. 5 will give away Jayson Werth Chia Pets to the first 20,000 fans, and the concept has already spurred its own Twitter account.
If those somehow don't interest you, perhaps you'll be interested in Star Wars Day, which will be held on July 19. Details are scarce right now, but according to TheWashington Post, themed days "will be reflected on the scoreboard and concourses and possibly in the broadcast booth and concession stands" and include promotional items.
Looks like the Nationals will be winning both on and off the field this year.
