Saturday Night Live celebrated its 40th anniversary Sunday night and, in case you missed it, it was a star-studded event that ended up bringing in big-time results for NBC. Peyton Manning and Derek Jeter were on hand to help present a montage that encapsulated a history of the show's sports sketches, which was pretty excellent. If you'd like to take a trip down memory lane, here's the full-sized gallery of athletes who have appeared on SNL over the years.
Phantom Cam Is The Real MVP
The NBA has gotten a ton of use out of its Phantom cameras over the years and the results have rarely disappointed. That's why you should probably make it a point to check out the best moments from All-Star Weekend in super slo-mo.
Good Try, Sneaky Turkish Beer Ninja
Anyone who has been subjected to the ridiculous alcohol prices at sporting events can sympathize with this Turkish soccer fan, who attempted to sneak a crazy amount of beer into a recent game. He didn't get away with it, but you have to admire the attempt.
Lovely Lady of the Day
UFC fighter Ronda Rousey somehow manages to be utterly terrifying (she fights again Feb. 28) and undeniably sexy all at once, a combination that certainly makes her a worthy recipient of today's LLOD honors. The 28-year-old fighter is also making quite a name for herself outside the octagon as both an actress (The Expendables 3, Furious 7 and Entourage) and a model -- she made her SI Swimsuit debut this year. (Click here for full-sized gallery.)
New Look for Team USA
Nike and USA Soccer have unveiled new jerseys for the men's and women's national teams. I've seen some initial mixed reviews, but I like them a lot.
Bill Clinton Meets Little CP3
Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood
The sun is shining, the birds are chirping and, oh look, John is jumping his ATV over houses again.
Odds & Ends
Justin Forsett and his wife nearly had to deliver their newborn baby in the car over the weekend... Too far? The scouting site Rivals is now tracking sixth-grade prospects... People felt very uncomfortable about Ariana Grande's cheerleader outfit at the All-Star Game... Rob Gronkowski spent Valentine's Day with a young fan battling cancer... Damian Lillard has some impressive rap skills... The 10 players most likely to be dealt at the NBA trade deadline... The tell-all ESPN book "Those Guys Have All The Fun" is being made into a movie... Zach LaVine's girlfriend is proof he was a winner well before the Slam Dunk Contest... The SNL 40 after-party looked like a whole lot of fun... Gallery: U.S. Presidents playing sports.
Lax Bro Beatdown
Bill O'Brien of the New England Black Wolves (NLL) doled out some serious punishment on a poor opponent during a game over the weekend.
Points For Creativity
This indoor soccer player may not have looked super cool notching this assist, but it's hard to argue with results.
Nobody Loves Bad Weather More Than This Weatherman
Something tells me this guy loves getting up and going to work every day.
