LA Dodgers affiliate plans to wear Star Wars theme jerseys
In the popular film series Star Wars, it was an ominous sign when the Empire's storm troopers appeared. However, when the Great Lakes Loons take the field on July 18 in Star Wars themed jerseys, it will be a sign that one of America's most wholesome pastimes is back in full swing.
The Loons, a Midlands, MI, based Single-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers, will auction the jerseys and top bidders will be able to take the field after the game to claim their winnings.
Also on Star Wars night, fans will be able to meet characters from the series and take part in themed contests.

Just as the original Star Wars was a trilogy, Star Wars Night will be part of an exciting three-game series in which fans will also be able to do karaoke with Saved by the Bell's Mr. Belding, Dennis Haskins, on July 29 and, on July 2, see in person the DeLorean Time Machine from the Back to the Future trilogy.

Tickets for the Loons' season go on sale on March 2 through in person or over the phone purchase. No word if fans will be able to use the force to secure their tickets.
