Ohio representative commends Cardale '12 Gauge' Jones
Ohio State quarterback Cardale Jones was undeniably good in his breakout 2014 season. So was his nickname, "12 Gauge," which is pretty blatantly awesome.
Now both have been honored together, with Ohio Rep. Bill Patmon choosing to include the nickname in an official commendation for Jones.
Not a bad accolade to add to Jones' collection from the past season. The sophomore started 2014 as the Buckeyes' third-string quarterback, but injuries to Braxton Miller and J.T. Barrett thrust him into the starting job for the Big Ten Championship.
From there, Ohio State trounced Wisconsin 59-0 as Jones tossed three touchdowns. Jones' next two games were even bigger -- the Sugar Bowl win over Alabama and then the inaugural College Football Playoff championship victory over Oregon.
