Giancarlo Stanton Gets Body Painted
Behind the scenes of Giancarlo Stanton's bodypainting
Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton signed a $325 million deal in November, but his most memorable off-season moment happened last Thursday when he was body painted with the help of Swimsuit model Erin Heatherton. The story about Stanton's transition into the model slugger (get it?) is a must-read. When you finish, go vote for Erin (an enormous Chicago Bulls fan, FYI) in the SI Swimsuit Rookie of the Year contest. Voting ends Friday.
Eric Lindros Sues Former NHL Referee
Over the summer,Paul Stewart wrote a Huffington Post story about life as an NHL referee and shared a not-so-flattering story about Eric Lindros. To summarize, Stewart wanted Lindros (then just 19-years-old) and teammate Mark Recchi to sign some posters for a charity auction, but Lindros tore up all the posters when he realized they were for Stewart. Lindros clearly didn't enjoy the story and has filed a $250,000 lawsuit against Stewart and the Huff Post.
Your New Bacon-Eating Champion
I'm a few days late on this but congrats to competitive eater Matt Stonie, who on Sunday broke the record for the largest amount of bacon consumed in five minutes (182 slices). As coach Taylor said, "Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose."
