Nick Saban finished third in election for Alabama's student body president
In a shocking turn of events, students at the University of Alabama revealed Tuesday that they are fond of head football coach Nick Saban.
Saban, according to data from the school, finished third in the race for president of the student government, thanks to six write-in votes. He racked up five more votes than Barack Obama, Crimson Tide quarterback Blake Sims and fictional character Claire Underwood.
One student used their vote to call for the basketball coach to be canned, writing "Fire Anthony Grant."

Saban also picked up double-digit votes in the races for three other positions.
Saban is not the first member of the football program to draw support in student government elections. Former receiver Julio Jones actually won a seat on the student senate thanks to write-in votes in 2009. He considered serving in the position but ultimately declined.
As for the real winner of the election, Elliot Spillers became the first black student elected SGA president since 1976.
