Miami and Stanford took the NIT championship game at Madison Square Garden Thursday to overtime before the Cardinal won a hard-fought contest, 65-64. 

The game ended the careers of players like Chasson Randle and Stefan Nastic. But really, the star of the game was former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver and Hurricanes graduate Michael Irvin. Look at the passion. (h/t Vinnyviner)​

Has anyone ever been that excited about the NIT, ever? 

As it happens, Miami doesn't have a single academic senior on its team. Why don't we reconvene everyone this time next year and give the Hurricanes a second shot in 2016 at that vaunted NIT trophy.
