Pitching for the first time since 2013, Mets pitcher Matt Harvey used bats with his nickname "Dark Knight" engraved on the knobs, as captured by Adam Kilgore of the Washington Post.

Harvey was dubbed "The Dark Knight" on a Sports Illustrated cover during his All-Star 2013 season.

After missing all of 2014 following Tommy John surgery, Harvey lived up to his nickname on Thursday, throwing six scoreless innings and striking out nine batters in the Mets' 6-3 win over Stephen Strasburg and the Nationals.

The engraved bats didn't seem to help him at the plate though, as he went 0-3 with two strikeouts.
